HUMIDITY / TEMPERATURE

Aroids originate from tropical regions, requiring indoor cultivation for most parts of the United States. Here are some essential considerations for their optimal growth:

Humidity:

  • Aroids thrive in high humidity environments, ideally above 60%.
  • Humidity levels lower than 50% may lead to leaf burning or slower growth.
  • Consider using a humidifier near your plants to increase humidity levels.
  • While higher humidity promotes faster growth, ensure good airflow to prevent issues.
  • Be cautious of humidity levels exceeding 90%, as this can accelerate the growth of harmful bacteria and viruses.
  • If using a tent or wardrobe with high humidity, clean it regularly to prevent harm to your plants.

Temperature:

  • Aroids prefer temperatures above 68°F (20°C).
  • Temperatures below 60°F (15°C) can be detrimental, potentially leading to plant death or very slow growth.

Maintaining the ideal humidity and temperature ranges is crucial for the health and vitality of your aroid plants. With proper environmental conditions, they'll thrive and display their characteristic lush foliage.
