LIGHTING

Natural Light:

  • Aroids thrive in bright, indirect sunlight.
  • The ideal lighting conditions depend on your window direction and size.
  • Early morning and late afternoon sunlight is suitable for aroids.
  • During other times of the day, move your plants several feet away from the window to avoid direct sunlight, which may cause leaf burns.

Grow Lights:

  • Grow lights provide stable lighting and accelerate plant growth.
  • Some Syngonium and Philodendron varieties may exhibit better color or variegation under grow lights.
  • Consider using grow lights if your room lacks natural light or experiences frequent rainy or cloudy weather.
  • Most grow lights come with time settings; it's recommended to provide 12 to 14 hours of lighting per day.
  • If you have a light meter, aim for a lighting intensity between 10,000 to 20,000 Lux for optimal growth of most aroids.
